Musashi Europe GmbH
This includes all activities that make us fit for electrification in our core business, the forging and machining of car and truck parts. Musashi has already established itself as a partner to the most important car manufacturers in the field of Electro-Mobility. Major customers therefore rate us as a very important future-proof supplier. Customer feedback spurs us on to further develop our core business so that the forging and machining of car and truck parts will continue to play a central role in Electro-Mobility.
The automotive market is the largest demand driver for formed steel in Europe and will remain Musashi Europe's core business. In addition, entry into adjacent markets outside the automotive sector is one of several growth options. The aim is to utilize our existing capabilities, processes and machinery in new markets. Musashi Europe is already implementing this growth strategy and has been able to generate business in the e-bike sector, for example.
A major trend of our time is 3D printing, which Musashi Europe has already embraced and is using in its in-house toolmaking. Together with our headquarters in Japan, we are working on a broader use of the advantages of additive manufacturing technologies.
The Japanese parent company is already one step ahead in terms of transformation. New business models independent of the automotive market have already emerged, which the European Entities are also following. For example, Musashi Europe has already started promoting lithium-ion capacitors. These represent a new type of storage medium that combines the advantages of lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors.
Corporate venture capital is a type of innovation management and allows Musashi to invest in start-ups, i.e. young companies, and to develop new products, processes and business models together with them.
In addition to these five pillars, the “green” and “digital” transformation are supporting Musashi's path into the future.
The aim of Musashi GX (green transformation) is to reduce the CO2 emissions of our plants to make a valuable contribution to environmental and climate protection.
In alignment with Musashi DX (digital transformation), projects to introduce a process automation solution using AI have already been successfully implemented.
Chief Transformation Officer David Beckers sums it up like this: "Musashi Europe began aligning its business model with the automotive megatrend of e-mobility back in 2017, and therefore at an early stage. Many future products are already in mass production in Europe. Our major customers actively communicate to us that they see Musashi as a very important strategic supplier for both today and tomorrow that will successfully accompany them in the automotive industry transformation. This customer feedback is a great motivation for us and at the same time a clear commitment from our customers to Musashi Europe. Musashi Europe will emerge stronger from this market consolidation as one of the largest players in the market."
