Hann. Münden

Hann. Münden - City of three rivers

In the south-easternmost corner of Lower Saxony, the town of Hann. Münden is the second largest municipality in the district of Göttingen with around 25,000 inhabitants.

Almost everyone knows the saying from the Weser Stone “Where Werra and Fulda kiss....”. The stone has marked the confluence of the Werra and Fulda rivers to form the Weser since 1899. Hann. Münden with its old town lies in the middle of the Münden Nature Park. Around 40,000 hectares of extensive woodland and a dense network of cycling and hiking trails offer a wide range of activities for tourists and those seeking relaxation, including those from the nearby regional centers of Göttingen and Kassel.

Innovative businesses and a variety of cultural and educational institutions are an enrichment for the location. Trade, business, hotels and restaurants are essential pillars of the well-functioning tourism concept.

With a view of the Werra and the Welfenschloß behind them, cyclists and visitors are invited to linger. Friends of half-timbered houses, half-timbered initiatives and half-timbered projects have made Hann. Münden famous and popular far beyond the borders of the state.
